South Glens Falls High School's Drama Club has actively produced musical productions since 1997, when district employee, Mrs. Julienne Tolin, revived the club. Since then, the troupe has had a team of dedicated directors, choreographers, technicians, and volunteers committed to fostering a lifelong love of theatre in hundreds of students - many of whom have made theatre a career! 

Stage 42 has participated in the High School Musical Theatre Awards at Proctors since the program's inception in 2017. Since then, they have been honored to receive recognition in the form of nominations and awards, including two Best Musical Tier C wins (Seussical, 2019 and Matilda, 2022). The troupe has also had the honor of sending student representatives to the National High School Musical Theatre "Jimmy" Awards in 2024, 2022, 2019, and 2018.
